STOP TRYING TO CREATE A ‘NEW YOU’, EXPLORE THE ‘TRUE YOU’.

New Year new me!
How many ‘new you’s have there been? How would you have described yourself one year ago? 5 years ago? 10 years ago? Has the way you have seen yourself changed? Do you have new hopes & fears?
Questions, questions.
Then answers. This type of person would do x to be happy. This type of person will take no more of x to feel strong.
Those answers work & serve a purpose until they don’t…Like the baskets and pick axes hanging on the donkey on the game Buckeroo. A new addition, happy this seems to work, staying in place, holding on, weighing you down, creating stress until Buck- Buck-Buckeroo! You get rid of them and decide on a new way of seeing things, new beliefs to help keep you safe, help you feel good, allow you to feel free & survive…to thrive.
New Me!!!
This time I really know what I need to do to live up to that new me. How to imagine the best of me, what beliefs will serve this me well. Until they don’t……So we go again…..and again….and again…Satisfied until we are not. Constantly searching, judging fixing & changing…Never still, always on the move.
What do all of these ‘new you’s have in common? When do they exist? What happens when your not thinking them? Where do you go? What is left?
A new thought of you is no more you than a new application of make up, a new jumper, a new pair of shoes, a new relationship, new job, new fitness regime, new phone…how do you experience these temporary versions….Temporary visions…Temporary thoughts. What is this ‘you’ that watches and allows every experience to pass through.
What exists in between the thoughts? What was there before during and after?
What is witnessing every experience?
The true you, rather than a new you.
Play with noticing that, simply by asking, “am I aware?”
‘You’ always were are and will be.
